Friday – Cancer Fitness Class

A referral from a health care professional is required prior to attending the exercise classes, (Clinical nurse specialist, Consultant, Macmillan Centre etc).

The Living Well With Cancer Exercise Classes

These classes are funded by the NHS and delivered by Impulse Leisure in partnership with Cancer Fitness.


Programme information

Each programme is for 12 weeks.

Individual sessions include a warm-up, 2 baseline exercises (these allow us to map your progress), one main fitness component plus a cool down.

Each week focuses on one of the following –

Strength
Cardio
Balance
Flexibility
HIIT

Your emotional well-being is important to us so each session Claire will guide you through a relaxation, mindfulness or visualisation technique.

Important information for your exercise session –

Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothes and flat non slip shoes (trainers are ideal but not essential)
Please bring a bottle of water
Please bring any medication you may require (ie inhalers)

First session

Claire and Francesca will introduce themselves to you. We will take your Blood pressure reading as a baseline.

We will ask you to complete a simple form to understand your energy/sleep and any concerns/symptoms.
